I have been hunting my entire life and been around guns my entire life. I have hunted with in line muzzle loaders for many years. I bought the Pa. Pellet for the simple reason that it gave me the ability to hunt for a few more weeks in northwest Pa. without breaking the bank.I got it home and it was a .50 cal.,, CVA frontier in great shape with a ball stuck about 3 inches from the breech. I pulled the nipple and clean out screw and pushed the ball closer to the breech. There was no powder under it so I dribbled in about 20 grains of 3f and replaced the screw and nipple. Modern guns with modern loads really don't need that much constriction but with muzzleloaders we still are duplicating the old loadings. The metal vises are from Woodcraft I believe. They cost about $90 at the time (10 years ago). The rotating jaws are very useful.
